The graduates at the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) form a cohesive social group and have developed the GradPad to help in their transition to new professional and personal lives.
Graduates organise regular social gatherings, including an end of program ball, where they can discuss various work experiences. Other social events help them to form strong, lasting friendships within the department and the public service. Past graduates also support new graduates, both at work and with settling in to a new city.
The DEEWR Social Club has been established to organise social events for all staff. Some of the activities include a monthly Happy Hour, dinner dances, balls, Christmas parties and support for group work functions. The Social Club also supports charities and holds fundraising events. All activities are a great way to meet new people and network!
The Social Network of Graduates or SNoG
provides support for graduates in the public service, organises an orientation to Canberra, provides a variety of exciting social events and as well as information about living in Canberra and working in the public service.
