Sharafat Kabir - IT

2007 Graduate Program

Sharafat KabirArchitecture, IT

This is probably the longest training period you’ll ever get in any job. The level of support is good, and the experience as a whole is very rewarding. I always liked working with computers and part of my role is dealing with other teams of people—which I enjoy.

I moved here from Adelaide and grew up in Bangladesh, so when I first came here it seemed small and sleepy, but I’ve found plenty of things to do. There were also a lot of events for the grads, which helped us adjust to a new place. We met IT people before orientation which helped.

It’s probably one of the best experiences you can have when you are starting your working life. The different teams were pretty considerate about what sort of work they gave you. In general, when you start work, you have to start running from day one, but in the Graduate Program you have time to slowly get up to speed.

I always wanted to be in IT. It’s an interesting career and we have new technologies almost every day. There’s always something new to work with.
