As a graduate in the General stream, you will have opportunities to broaden your skills and gain experience across a variety of areas. These include:

  • media and communications, and
  • leadership and management.

DEEWR is looking for high-performing, well-rounded graduates who show enthusiasm, professionalism, teamwork, integrity and creativity in their daily work.

To be eligible, applicants must have completed, or be due to complete, a three-year undergraduate degree from an Australian university (or equivalent) by the end of the 2008 academic year.

The variety of work in DEEWR is enormous and most graduates will undertake placements in three different areas of the department with the opportunity to experience and enjoy areas of work they may not have otherwise considered.

Graduates will gain an overall understanding of public sector administration and the business and operation of the department.
